On the Grand Térraba River half day tour
Departing from TikiVillas Rainforest Lodge, you will drive south on the Costanera Highway for a little more than 1 hour until we reach the Grand Térraba River. We will stop along the way to view some of the incredible wildlife, which may include birds, monkeys and sloths. At Palmar Norte, you will be provided with the safest kayaking equipment available and will be given full safety briefing by the professional kayaking instructors. The river trip begins in grand style with a magnificent 15 km section of canyon. You will enjoy the lush scenery with a wide variety of wildlife combined with the emotion of class I, II & III rapids this is a fantastic experience.

About the Terraba River
The Grand Térraba River is the longest river of Costa Rica, covering 198 kilometers and carrying the largest volume of water. It descends from the highest point of Costa Rica, Chirripo National Park (Talamanca Mountain Range) down to the Pacific Ocean. In the middle section there are 2 Indians Reserves: The Borucas and Térrabas. This river creates the largest delta and it’s lowest section protects 36.000 ha of Mangroves, the largest area of mangrove swamp in Costa Rica. 7 different species of Mangrove trees have been identified in the swamp- the most in the country.
